if sasha is your favorite dj, then who says people are buying into this 'bullshit of celebrity dj'. these guys make it out to canada once every year or two. people who want to go see their favortie dj play will drive a few hrs to see it. its a massive piss off when he doesnt even make it, and we KNOW its not a legitamite excue. sorry, you don't know what you're talking about either on this one.

It's indicative of how he is viewed that you make a positive point of the fact that he turned up. !!

No on has demanded perfection, or claimed it.

But as with any professional, we expect them to turn up to do their job. Jeez, plumbers have a better rep than this guy

Only professional no show for us was Dave Seaman , we got Chris Fortier instead, which was a good deal. !! I made a thread about it. http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/...s+Fortier+Hero I have forgiven Dave but still wouldn't go to see him simply because I haven't heard anything I liked from him lately!!

Btw While I love our locals and have chosen them over Sasha this coming friday night. I'm still flying 2000 miles to Hernan next year.

the eye roll, it was subtle, lol

but, no he is only an unprofessional party animal, he misses gigs probably more than anyone i have ever heard of.. if he had not had digweed at his side for most of his career, i dont think he'd be any where near the dj/producer he is right now..

having said that, missing two TO gigs within what 18 months or so.. clearly he hates toronto

Re: Sasha No Show In Toronto

Sasha did show up for his gig here in Nov 08. So, he's missed 2, made 1.
Btw..I went to my fav T.O club, Footwork and saw Jimpster that night instead. It was alot of fun with good upbeat techy house, but not very close to what I REALLY wanted. Oil well, next time.
Awww...I didn't mean A holes, as in "A holes"...I meant it like, as in, my friends....

Re: Sasha No Show In Toronto

^^ its funny - we were discussing this only last weekend. I was saying possibly another 10 years depending on if he keeps his act together.

One the one hand he's been more active producing - on the other hand I'm not to sure he gets that major buzz out of dj-ing and some of his sets can be auto-piloted construction wise (he played the life out of some tunes this year). Plus he seems to have gone for a few big pay days (suppose I would if I could too !).

But when he's on his game (particularly at Space, Sankeys, Air and The Plug + to a degree Fabric this year) then he can go on til he burns out.

... if he keeps burning out through partying too hard and disappointing/letting down people that support him then it could be less than 10-years. Wonder if Sasha's interest in the music he plays will last that long.

This release was mastered direct from vinyl at the request of the DJ and as such features natural sound characteristics of this medium such as record surface noise.

i think if he wanted to (provided he party legit, and not sloppy from here on out), he could go well into his 60s or even 70s(even touring), cos he's a marathon man. ffs, it really dont take much to dj, even whilst shitfaced. he could have at least tryed to killed the hangover by several means, or completely postpone/cancel it out by getting moderately wasted again; just "pay the price" another day, and not when you need to bring your a game. try and gut it the fuck out. just sayin

Been a no-show on a few occasions for me.

Cream (think it was March) - 1998
Keele University - Expeditions Tour - 1999 - Left to Howells & Digweed, so wasn't bad at all.
Bugged Out@Nation - 2000 - Sander did an extended set
Tribal Gathering@Sankeys - 2005 - Digweed was playing anyway & Zabiela came on after for an extra 2 hours. Oh, and a free bar for most of the night

They do say it's always best to catch him on a Friday.
