The concept of 'a reason' is ridiculous. Everything happens for a reason, whether that's influence from others, weather patterns, whatever. But the concept of a higher reason that actions are moving towards isn't something you can reasonably believe.
Yes, sometimes a chain of occurences happen that seems like there is some pre-defined force acting upon us "Wow, if i hadn't split up with my ex-girlfriend, got upset, gone to a bar i've never been to before, got drunk, fallen asleep and been woken up by you, the cleaner and new love of my live, I never would have met you!"
Yes, this is the reason you met the love of your life, but believing that all the preceeding events were all conspiring with the intent to hook you up with a cleaner is absurd.
