Rutgers researchers find a cure for HIV?

We are talking about a cure for people who already have AIDS? Or just a pill that would make your immune system stronger so you could never be infected with HIV?

It's nice there's optimisim, but there were plenty of other rx which similarly mimicked / attacked HIV reverse transcriptase - but the virus adapted in the end, making them ineffective. This is a good start, folks - but it hasn't been conclusively tried in population and, given past failures, saying that this is an AIDS cure is very premature.

I doubt we will see a cure in this lifetime. I'm sure its possible, however a cure would eliminate the dependence on pharmaceutical companies. One thing that is hurting america is the domination drug manufacturers have over common people. Its bad enough that these companies are trying hard to classify herbal supplements as drugs so they can profit, its only a matter of time.
