    iPod (Classic) firmwares

    Do you guys upgrade all the time?

    I'm still running on 1.03 for my iPod Classic, wondering if I should upgrade to 1.1.2. It's always such a hit or miss process.

    Have you experienced any sound improvements or any sort of improvements besides the purported bug fixes?

          Its always best to use the latest firmwares. Ive always used the Apple firmwares so dont know about the stuff Corven says.

              Yeh had a look at rockbox but it doesn't seem to support the iPod Classic which is what I have.

              Apple: 1st through 5.5th generation iPod, iPod Mini and 1st generation iPod Nano
              (not the Shuffle, 2nd/3rd/4th gen Nano, Classic or Touch)

                  I dunno man, reading some responses on ilounge and mac forums, latest firmwares sometimes seem to do jack but cause more problems, hence my hesitance to update. Thanks for the page, will check it out. I think there's a way to roll back to an older firmware.

                      Yup you could restore an older firmware, but then it doesn't always work a 100%
