Sasha live @ BIllboard Melbourne 20/11/2009

Well, my ears are still ringing.... what a night!

totally worth traveling the 4000kms required to see sasha tonight, and im happy to say that he didn't disappoint!

WE had the Sasha of old back, playing stomping tunes and banging out large track, after large track.... he started at 1, and played till 4.15, the place was packed!!!!! gavin keitel played a kick ass set opening for Sasha, and Sean Quinn was finishing up later.... sean had at least 500 people on the dance floor when they turned the lights on... (this is one of those moments, where i am shocked that i will be out in public!!!) so we went to the Victoria markets and brought a watermelon and some other fruits...

too hammered to write anything else at this moment, but i did get some videos of the night, which ill post when i get back to NZ = i dont have the cable to get the images off my camera. Plus that and im sweating like a pig and need to have a shower... lol seriously, who the fuck let me out in public... lolser!

Sasha, i doubt that you will ever be reading this, but thanks for coming and thanks for going back to the hard, stomping, cranky, chugging, melodic prog house that you are so the master of...

all in all, totally worth the trip good fucking times... videos to follow...

Glad you had a great time .. apparently he's playing off CDJ 2000's while MAVEN gets a facelift.

Catch Sasha again in Dec (WHP with Diggers) and Jan 1st ... can't wait !

This release was mastered direct from vinyl at the request of the DJ and as such features natural sound characteristics of this medium such as record surface noise.

from wat i could actually see of him., he was using 4 cdjs - from what i gather, he was using the same setup as last night in brisbane.... apparantly he played his whole set from an SD card!

      my, how times have changed...

to be honest, it was a horrible venue. he should have gone wit brown alley. the bathrooms were rammed to capacity, filthy hot gross club.... damn australia has some hot wimmen...

feather here, had to register a new nick cos I am too fucked to remember my password. Suffice to say Sasha destroyed me. But I thought it was a weird set, tunes were great but it felt like he was playing in segments and on the whole I didn't really get the cohesive journey. But what do I know, I'm a fucking retard right now.

best set that i've heard from the man and definitely the best set i've caught this year ... beat diggers destroying zouk twice in 1 weekend

hopefully he'll be as good if not more when he plays zouk in 2 weeks

              Sounds like an interesting night

Just about to leave the house to go to pre drinks. Sasha starts in exactly 5 hours!

                    Was a great night.

Sasha definitely brought the CHUGG back into his set las night.

Loved the warm up set by Gav. The way he left off with that looping bassless riff, which went on for like 2-3 minutes and continued on until Sasha unleashed with a bomb, was something pretty special and had the whole place jumping.

That intro was one of the finest things I've seen in all my time clubbing.

The man did not dissapoint and would love to him again real soon.

An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.”

Yes he is. Just not too keen to shell out over $100 to see a 1-2 hour set.

                              Oh well, maybe another time.
