DJing Reloop Digital Jockey 2 Controller Edition

Thinking about getting this. Looks pretty damn good for the price (around US$ 350). Anyone has it or tried it? or recommends me to go another way. All opinions are welcome

(upgrading from a X Session Pro with Traktor Pro)

I would stick to Traktor Pro in your case, but I would upgrade to a Vestax VCI-100.

I used to have this configuration and I can assure you that it is stable and reliable even at live gigs that I tested it.

Just be sure to get a v1.2 firmware edition (there is a green sticker on the box mentioning this). Otherwise you can purchase a firmware upgrading tool for v1.2 Official or for v1.3 Ean Golden Edition from www.djtechtools.com.

I've never worked with the reloop controller, I feel that it is the best VCI alternative, but I think that the VCI works the extra difference, as it is a tested and proved to be stable solution.

    I hope this helps.

    Best regards,
    Panoulix.

Definitely sticking with traktor, just indecisive about the controller. Is the diference (US$200) between the reloop and vci worth it??

And how about this? any good?

Re: Reloop Digital Jockey 2 Controller Edition

I would say no to Hercules, that's for sure, as well as for the Numark equivalent. NO!

Regarding the VCI vs the Reloop, before replying to you, I would like to know exactly the use you will need such a unit for.

If you intent to use it mostly for home use or a few private parties with friends, then the Reloop worths it's money more. If you intent to play live professionally, then the VCI will not betray you (assuming your notebook is also stable as well).

I would stick to the VCI because I tested it thoroughly and extensively when I had it, but the Reloop is also a good alternative that should be under your consideration, so don't underestimate it.

I am not sure 100% about 2 things: a) If there is a stable TKS/TSI file for a full emulation of Reloop's functions with Traktor/Traktor Pro and b) If the knobs and faders will sustain extensive use (well I would say that I was not impressed so much from the VCI's faders and knobs as well, but surely they are not toy-like as they are on Hercules and Numark alternatives)...

If there is a chance to test both units on a store or friend, go for them and check by yourself. You're the one who pays, so you should make the best decision for you, according to your wallet and use intentions.

Let me know if I can help you further.

        All the best, Panoulix.

Well, after long meditation about the subject (and some influence from a member at [ms]), I finally decided what controller I wanted.

I just bought a VCI-100 SE from the guys at djtechtools.

Looks awesome and looks like it will work even better

should arrive in 7 to 9 days, so the counting has started

Take the Interface Edition, it's a little bit more expensiver, but you won't regret it !

I'm a owner of the Digital Jockey 2 IE since this summer, and it's a great machine for a great price. The IE function has got the pre-listen function on the headphone out and a microphone in. Works really good, and I've used it a couple of times on small party's.

            edit:
mm you already bought another one. Just cancel it and buy the DJ2IE
