how big was the file? the demo version of most recovery programs will allow you files up to a certain size, and those rns files can be quite small
otherwise I would go to download.com, look under utilities and then read the user reviews for recovery software, pay attention to what functionality the demo version has, and if it includes spyware
most importantly you want to avoid doing much of anything on that computer because the more you use it, the more likely it becomes for that file to get overwritten
