Transitions (Episode 274) November 29th : Live at Global Gathering

After a long run of studio shows it's time for Diggers to open his vault of extensive live sets, giving us an hour from one of the large festival events during this summer.

John's segement of Transitions is taken from Global Gathering where Bedrock historically have a tent for the day with a few small names added to boost the bill e.g. the likes of Sasha, Jimmy Van M, Sander Kleinenberg, Josh Wink, Danny Howells, Guy J, Christian Smith and [ms]'s very own Andy Newland !

The set is a stormer, and typical peak time set with some big tunes and after the lush sounds of Gus Gus the momentum keeps on getting cranked up a notch to a swift pace as Diggers throws everything at you, building up to destroy mode ... or Tangent as it's known !

Pics from the night are included in this thread :

I know John gets bombarded with requests for live sets (guilty !) - but as mighty fine as this set is, I'd still urge people to catch up on the studio sets, as there have been some corkers lately. Transitions has been on a roll in 2009 and long may that continue !

We just need one ID to complete the set list, so get trainspotting !

The guest mix this week is, I have to say, essential listening. It's from progressive legend Moshic (Dj, Producer, Remixer) and is simply one of the finest things I've heard this year - plus the tracks are a teaser of Moshic's forthcoming artist album, which is now looking like a must have !

As always, both sets are available now in the [ms] downloads section

Moshic (Aka Argonout, Moshic Da Silva, Remosh) Bio.

Northern Israel, Haifa (1977), Moshic Shlomi is born. A man, whose name thrills millions of progressive House fans today. He grew up in a family of musicians, but not everything in his life inclined cheerful singing.

At the age of 18, he was enlisted to National Service, where as a medic, he had to deal with death everyday. Soldiers brought from Lebanon were dying right in front of his eyes. Continuous suicide attacks and living on a time bomb made Moshic understand, what the most important thing in life is to seize the day.

When he finished paying his debts to the country, he decided to devote himself completely to electronic music. He fell in love with progressive, which wasnt too popular at that time in Israel. He was handing out his mixes wherever he could, but the scene ignored his too dark style. Disillusioned, he moved to New York the city where John Digweed and Sasha were spinning records in Twilo, and Moshics progressive darkness finally found a susceptible breeding ground.

Moshic released his first singles under the Argonout guise. Argonout (Aka Moshic) is Moshics first project and got releases through Cyber records (NL).

It's fucking banging. Never properly appreciated Persuader before, didn't even burn it for my gigs but man this mix made me change my mind.

Lovin' the GG set......has made Babylon listenable again for me......I don't know why but that tune always gets me to imagining fit Asian (the American definition, as in Chinese etc.) birds

And, as it stands, tune of the year for me is TANGENT! Escalating madness!

We need more live Digger sets!
