Didn't see a thread here. Just wondering if anyone here has used it. I can get one here for about the same price as A&H xone 42 and was just wondering which of the two might be a better deal. I've seen in other thread that A&H are def preferred as far as quality of sound and design over other Pioneer mixers. Just wanted to know if this new one was any better...

Re: Pioneer DJM 5000
If you like digital tricks and effects and a proper analog design, take the Pioneer. They're really good and you won't be disappointed. If you're mixing only with analog gear and you don't care about all the extra functions take the 42. The A&H analog design is still a bit better."Computer games don’t affect kids: I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we’d all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music." -
Re: Pioneer DJM 5000
The DJM-5000 is a 19" rackmount clubmixer, ideal for mobile installations as well (which is it's main purpose target group).
I would get none of them if I were you, but this is a matter of taste.
A&H has lost the quality grade it had in the near past, I see and hear many people and many friends complaining about issues with Xone series mixers and I am very disappointed to that, because I consider A&H as one of the most reliable companies...
If you travel a lot, stick to the DJM-5000, it is a robust design mixer and made to last for long. However my experience with Pioneer mixers says that the sound quality and the fader feel and quality is not as much good as it should be (at least compared to the other rival companies).
If you want to play at home, then stick to the A&H Xone:42 Black Edition, which is nice, fancy and a good value for money mixer.
My personal choice for that money would be an Ecler Evo 4 mixer, which combines very good midi functions (including the ability to play as a VJ mixer with the proper software), as well as superb sound quality and very very nice faders.Comment

Re: Pioneer DJM 5000
a friend just got the UREI 1603...excited to play on it. you're right about the Xone quality of late. I wouldn't buy Pioneer anything. Luckily i have an old xone 62...but i've considered getting a urei or rane just for something new.Comment

Re: Pioneer DJM 5000
yeah unfortunately the only Pioneer mixer with full cuts is the cheapy DJM-400.
I love playing on the Rane mixers. But the cost is way too much for a bedroom dj who would never take their equipment out of the house. If you only use two decks...get a two deck mixer. Don't go overboard and get one with ten thousand knobs...at least not until that first big track of yours hits Number 1 on the charts.Comment

Re: Pioneer DJM 5000
yeah, it'll be for the bedroom mostly...i'd like at least a four channel mixer because i'd like to add to my set up eventually...i'm torn between the two i originally mentioned, they both look hot and will both do more than what i need to for now, but i'm just going off of some demo videos i found on the net...wish i could actually mess around with the both of them for a bit...". . . Could it be that you would understand this beat to which we dance, more clearly had you been given the chance. Re: Pioneer DJM 5000
get yourself down to guitar center and check out their dj section. Or head on down to Dubspot and ask them if you can try out some of their mixers so that you'll know exactly what you wish to purchase.Comment
