This happened very recently to my cousin, they have two kids and one on the way, live in Toronto and where at their farm house when a robber stole all of her jewelry which was passed down through the generations as well, probably pretty valuable stuff...

...Sorry for your loss MJ, glad nobody got hurt though, and don't worry these robbers will get whats coming to them eventually...

I also heard on the news in a wealthy suburb of New York several houses were recently robbed also for the jewelry...with gold prices at an all time high, this is what these thieves are after.

I can't imagine how your Mrs. is feeling, but it must be heartbreaking to lose items that hold such sentimental value.....if I lost my grandmothers ring that my grandfather had originally given her, I would be gutted

I hope they catch the people that did this to you and maybe you will be able to recover some of your belongings....maybe they will try to pawn them in the shops in the area or sell them online.

Someone tried to get into my house just last week. Since I live at the beach, we generally keep the windows open. I took a power nap for a few hours, only to wake up & discover one of the window screens had been bent in half & wet foot prints just below the window. Luckily, nothing was stolen! I think either I woke up just in time or someone scared the crackhead off.

It's not legal to own hand guns in the UK, that's something I'm quite grateful for. The last thing I would want to do is get involved in a fire fight with someone, I'd rather give them a good hiding with my bare fists.

Insurance only covers the the things that are easily replaced. Extremely old jewellery that has priceless sentimental value is irreplaceable.

I just heard they did the guy two doors down from me and took more or less the same as they did here. The forensics found nothing here but 3 different very distinct foot prints at the neighbours. It looks it was a small team that did it. It had to be, it takes at least two people to lift the tv I had.

The tv and xbox mean nothing to me, I am over them already. Having to pick up the pieces my Mrs is in is the thing that is getting me.

Of fuck! Somehow I missed this. Very sorry to hear Mike. Besides the loss of nice toys it's the pychological part because once your flat/house was robbed you need time to feel safe again in it. Hope they catch them!
