Congrats to Argentina and Greece! I hope I can catch a summary of both Games later. I am getting excited for tomorrow already. Good thing is, no matter if we win or lose, there will be a reason for drinking.
Well it´s not always gonna be the ball´s fault, but I know a couple of guys (who are not pro players) that have played with this ball and they say, for example, that the ball acts weird when they hit it with quite some power from afar, it´s like it zig-zags, the trajectory is a bit unpredictable.
Also, if you´ve gotten used most of the time to a ball with a certain weight, it´ll take you some time to adapt the weight you´ll put behind a save with your body, if you´re a keeper. And that could cause some weird deflections.
Finally, notice how most free-kicks in the tournament so far have been a bit crap, it seems like the ball takes a lot longer to start dipping after a long hard strike. Same thing for long passes...
free kicks have been a bit crap yes, but the federations have had these balls in their possession for months, so it's not adidas's fault if they didn't take the time to get used to them
funny I heard the complete opposite from someone that plays for the Rowdies here, said he hits the ball as hard as he wants and it was dipping over a wall at 25 yards from goal.. guess it just takes a minute to get used to hitting it right... I still say the England and Nigeria keepers messed up easy saves.. a ball hit pretty much on the ground isn't going to zig zag a whole lot.. you need to get your body behind it.. now Paraguay's goalie? lol.. no excuse either, he missed that ball by about 3 or 4 feet against Italy, lol

Some have, some haven't - they've been pretty standard in the Bundesliga for 6 months or so - not in UK due to a contract the premier league have with Nike.
I agree it's pushing it to blame those 2 keeping errors on the ball but overall i think the sides who've kept it short and on the deck have looked better for it. I've seen some horrendous long passes that you simply wouldn't normally see at this level of football.
A lot of players seem hesitant when controlling the ball too imo which is taking a little of the spontaneity out of moves.
Lost count of how many headers/saves have been misjudged because of last minute ball movements. Maybe it's partly the ball, partly the atmosphere??? Those balls were developed at the university here in the town where i live and believe me, it's a very big talking point here.
I wasn't talking about the prem, I meant the actual federations, but you make a good point.. I'm sure the altitude has something to do with it too... but everyone is playing with the same ball and Argentina didn't seem to have any problems with it lmao

now that you say that, the free kicks in this mexico v france match have been absolutely useless

I certainly hope you don't lose to Serbia, I wouldn't be surprised with a draw though.. but if I were you Ghana would make me more nervous
so the French are fucked.. Mexico and Uraguay play each other next and regardless of what happens in the France v South Africa match a draw puts Mexico and Uraguay through, so they can just play out a 0-0 draw, lol

They are pretty much fucked up yeah... But got the feeling that Mexico vs Uruguay will be a rough match... A draw might put Mexico in the second place and that prolly means play against Argentina (hipothetically) on the next phase.. Pretty sure Uruguay and Mexico will fight for the first place in the group.. Both of them can of course beat Argentina, but imo is clearly better play against any of the others teams..
If something magical happens and France scores lots of goals (3 to say the least) against South Africa, theres a extremelly low chance to get through the knock out phase.. For that option Mexico or Uruguay should lost the game for a few goals... This is almost an impossible scenario but well, soccer is a weird sport
they're minus 2,. they need A LOT of goals, and they haven't even scored ONE! lmao
I'd rather see Argentina sooner than later really, they seem to build up steam like Brazil as the tourney goes on.. being English I'll take them whenever!!!

Let me tell you, we are not Brazil... They are the real deal on World Cup... Argentina is doing it pretty well actually, but we are not Brazil or Germany, and must say, we are less efective than Italy through World Cup history.. That means go step by step
