Not really sure what your point is but anyway..

I think if you speak to the actual fans most will tell you they didn't expect us to win. What they will say is they expected a damn site more from a manager who is paid ยฃ6m a year and who's refusal to adapt during the world cup was mind boggling. They will tell you they see the exact same players week in week out in the Premiership competing as and against the best players in the world, only to turn up at the world cup and collectively be an embarrassment. They had the best of everything, accommodation and preparation, yet they still looked like they didn't know what each other was doing.

There are a few things I don't get. How come we head into the first game and we still didn't know who our first choice goal keeper was? How come we can have Rooney play up front on his own for Man United and see him score a shit load of goals, yet we choose to give him a striking partner who has clearly seen his best days for England long gone? How can we have Steve Gerrard, who single handedly keeps Liverpool afloat with his one man show from his free role, play on the left where he is obviously not at his best?

I know we are all armchair managers but come on, these seem like basics to me.

Germany were the better team, it's just unfortunate this is even a discussion on so many of these matches with bad calls... Ger v Arg will be a great match, and I will be pulling for Germany!
Mike, Steve and all other English football fans...no need to worry anymore...you weren't betrayed. I have received a valuable proof that it wasn't a Goal but check for yourself and see with your own eyes.

what a profoundly different tourney this might have been, had it been called with exactitude (yeah, of course it's not over yet, but, derp derp...). anyways, it does not matter, but how unfortunate for the sport, today, in general
One thing that would help a lot also is working against obvious flops and injury delays. I mean come on, some times the guy trips and he's on the ground for a minute or two. Delays happen in all sports, but I see it a lot more with Football (soccer).

They are bad, but not as bad! They just fall down a lot, they don't fall down, hold their leg, have somebody run out onto the field stretch his leg out, help him stand up, and then let him continue to run around playing the game just fine.

One thing I absolutely love about watching the world cup is the lack of commercial breaks.

It was fun while it lasted...

It's quite pathetic when you compare it to something like rugby, they clatter into each other all the time yet they get up and brush it of as if it hadn't happened. You see guys go down in football like someone has just drawn a gun and shot them. It's play acting trying to get players booked or even sent off, otherwise known as cheating.

I've been watching a bit of baseball on ESPN lately, I can only watch so much until the add breaks drive me nuts. How you guys put up with that is beyond me.

We've got the "mute button" down to a science. But even still, the frequency of commercial breaks are unnerving to say the least.

Exactly! The ref's need to get on them more about that.
