Johnson's numbers for last year are incredibly misleading. He was playing for the Bad News Bears at best. He utterly dominated batters, including the Braves who he threw the no-hitter against. The problem in Arizona last year was that when even one run was let in, they had almost no chance of victory. Randy approached every situation as needing to throw a shut-out.
