No way has he lost a step... Yeah, he's playing a lot of deeper & techier stuff on his radio show, but that's his chance to play records he likes that he couldn't necessarily play out. Just because they're not to everyone's taste doesn't mean John is losing it - far from it, he's just playing a different sound. Hell, everyone's tastes change over time and he wouldn't be where he is today if he was still playing the records he played 10 or 15 years ago...
And as others have pointed out, he is still the best in the world imo at delivering seriously dark pounding beats at 6 in the morningComment

digweed is doing what he's been doing for nearly 20 years, Evolving.
seems most people are just slow to catch up to him.
and this is not saying he is spinning some new genre that we've never heard before, just saying he's moving on to the next thing that gets HIM off.
he's playing some techier stuff yes, but he's just integrating that with the naughty naughty we all know he brings when the peak is on.
and imo, he's doing it well.
john has not lost a step at all.Comment

I thought the first three-quarter of the 19/12 Kiss set was good. Just caught him a month ago and mind-blowing as usual. I guess that's what I like about him, no matter how good we seem to already agree he is, he still manages to surprise and blow minds at every gig.
A bit ambivalent about the Fabric 20 though. Liked the first half of the mix, but overall, it doesn't seem to pack the usual "oomph" from his progressive sets. It doesn't sound distinctive or signature enough, I can't tell if I didn't already know he did the mix.

I got pics and video. But I will upload them in the morning. I need to smoke this nice phat joint and just close my eyes and replay the amazingness in my head.Comment

I stopped listening to Digweed's hour nearly two years ago, when he started playing a lot of the MMII stuff, whic hjust doesnt do it for me.His tracklists recently dont look anything special, and his Fabric Cd hasnt got the greatest reviews. But he's still a legend, and he blew me away at Bedrock last Easter-you really cant compare the radio to his live setsComment

Personally I think the diversity of his Kiss shows these days is great, and the fact he had the chance to do something different for Fabric (lets face it there would be outcry if he did it on Bedrock) is welcome too.
Just like people always measure Sasha by his GU albums, the same is now happening to Digweed. Open your ears to new sounds, and stop living in the past and holding onto the 'glory days' I say.Comment

I really can't understand why there is any debate here. Digweed's show is for the most part to show off new tracks (comparing to his live sets are pointless). Not only does he have incredibly upfront tracks, but his show has run the genre gamut in the last few months, from house to progressive to breaks to tech-house and practically into techno. With a range of styles like that, not everyone is going to like every set he plays, but he does play quality regardless of genre.
of course that's just my opinion..."Work like you don't need the money.
Love like you've never been hurt.
Dance like nobody's watching.
Sing like nobody's listening.
Live like it's Heaven on Earth."Comment

His show is to showcase new tracks and give the producers of said tracks the exposure they deserve.Comment

ive noticed the same in my opinion...his last shows really aren?t getting me to even move my feet while i?m listening to them on the computer...i haven?t even saved his last 3 mixes on my hard drive..just gave em a few listens and then deleted em...guest mixes are still pretty good, some better than othersComment
