Finally we find out. Don't get take me wrong guys, it does matter how old he is he still is one of the most consistent djs out there right now and prolly will be for a while. But seriously how long till some of these guys hang it up because they are to old to stay up all night and play. They should create some sort of Hall of Fame for these older pioneers to honor them and their hard work. I believe he has 8 Global Underground compilations and that is topps for that collection. I think it is safe to say he has accomplished everything a dj could ever want to accomplish.

Hell yes big props for banging it out at that age. One thing about it they can play till they go deaf. Actually that's not even true because we have a Dj in town that is deaf. Hence the name Def Jeff (and he is good). So since he is not an athlete who has to retire because he he has lost his edge, there is no losing your edge in this industry obviously, when does a dj say he has had enough. Never I hope.

I think it would be very hard to give up the music. I think you will find that they look after themselves a little better as they get older.

I think that these stalwart dj's will never get tired of the music, but there must come a time when they get tired of the airports, the hotel stays, the all night sessions etc. If I was 49 I know I would be struggling to keep up the pace.

Also Jeff just turned 40 yesterday! So he is getting up there as well and still keeps an edge over most DJ's I know. I mean hell if you can master playing while being deaf that right there puts you above everyone else in my book!

                          [ Def Jeff ]
Just a cool guy, nothing fancy about me at all. I get a bit goofy, sometimes sarcastic once in a while just enjoying life and doing whatever comes to my mind...I am deaf too hence, my dj name Def Jeff I have been dj'ing since 1988 basically grew up with the Orlando scene along with the likes of Icey, Kimball Collins, Dave Cannalte, Andy Hughes, AK1200...among others. I grew up listening to many kinds of music so my influences has a wide range from the 70' psychedelic rock and funk to the 80's new wave, hip hop and industrial music which led me to be a dj back in 1988 when Kimball and Dave started the late nights in Orlando.... It took me a while to get my mixing straight because of my hearing until the mixer companies came out with mixers I can work with. Then in the early 90's and on I have played around most of Florida and met many great people out there (ya'll know who ya are!) I have been a bit quiet the last few years i've been getting back on track on the dj front and we shall see what it will lead to.... *may the funk be with you*...Peace! DJ

The bloke is living the dream. he travels the world, he has plenty of fans, beautiful GF, he gets paid to do what we pay to do. I imagine he has a nice house and can choose his work load. If I was him I would be still doing it for a long time yet. We are the generation that never grew up

He wears a halo around his neck that allows him to hear. I've played a few gigs with him over the years and whenever we go over to Andy Hughes to have BBQ's he's there playing. He's amazing to watch while he DJ's because you wonder how he does it. But he does it! Great guy too, very funny!

I don't know if this will work but here is a picture with him on my FB page (I lock my FB page down so if it doesn't work let me know and I'll up it somewhere).
He's on the left and Andy is on the right.
