    Hi All,

Anyone give me any tips on free software to record audio clips from you tube to use for sampling?

i think jdownloader could help you. it's a little over the top for your use, but once it's running the only thing you'd have to do is copy the youtube link to the clipboard, and tell it to convert it to mp3.

this is theory for me, i haven't used the mp3 conversion so far. but i have successfully downloaded several youtube vids as .flv so far.

sounds like you're sorted but here's another one that i've used in the past

        ReplayAudio here

works well and you get to make 25 recordings free with the demo version

if you use FF you can get downloadhelper in the add-ons section of their site. You can use it to download about anything that is mp3 or flv, mov and more from the net.

+1 on that, but sometimes the server for the addons are too slow or the FF has issues by being slower

I would also suggest to take a look at this: http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/

At least this one works fine for me.

do you find the quality of the music is pretty poor though after you convert?

I think it depends on the source file.

yeah most of the time an internet audio file is less than 128K Mp3. Probably more in the line of a 64K version. So go buy the music instead of ripping it off the youtube promotional videos.
