    Re: Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey (!)

    You've obviously never tried any Scottish whiskeys.

    Also, I love Jack Daniel's but it's actually a bourbon.

    I like it pure, no ice and not mixed with coke. (cocaine... yes).

    Aaaaaaaaaaaah!!

      Sorry to disappoint you lot but Johnnie Walker is a blend made of better Scotch whiskeys. A blend is subordinate to a malt in any connoisseur's book. I prefer Lagavulin.

      Johnnie Walker also offers a higher quality Gold and Blue label, with Blue being the very finest. I'm not sure how old it is aged for but it has to be at least 18 years. A bottle will run anywhere from 150 to 180 dollars. For more info;

              We weren't debating whether or not Johnnie Walker was a blend or a single malt scotch. If you would of read one of my earlier posts I specifically mentioned that it was a blended scotch. Personally I would prefer the Blue label over any single malt.

                      bushmills 16 is definitely some of the best i've had at a reasonable price. try bushmills 21 if you've got money to burn.

                            Cmon...JD is nowhere near a Glen Deveron, or a Talisker (yes, opened it, en it's good!).

                            I also got someone who might get me a bottle of JW gold...can't wait to taste that one!

                                Ah yes, Bushmills and Jameson are in my rotation, but I prefer the smoky flavor of bourbon or scotch. Wild Turkey Rare Breed - the best bourbon I've had (but probably not the best around) smoother than Jack, although Jack is the old stand-by for me. Never a bad experience with it. Another good bourbon - Elijah Craig
