    terror bombing attempt on plane....

ugg, this is just depressing to wake up and see this all over the news today, the day after the best holiday around....

enough is enough, i think its time we just cordon off the middle east and let them rot amongst themselves....

we really need to cut ourselves off from the area and let them forget us. stop the foreign aid, stop the wars, stop all the humanities monies, and simply isolate them. they dont want our help and hide under the guise of "its only militants", when they cant keep their own homes clean.

when will the regular non militant people gain some guff and stand up to these? they wontm b/c the regular citizens of the Middle east find it convienent to let the terrorists do what they do much like whites in the south didnt stand up to the KKK when it was doing its activities.

Witness claim Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab tried to board the plane in Amsterdam without a passport. I haven't heard this on the news

A Michigan man who was aboard Northwest Airlines Flight 253 says he witnessed Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab trying to board the plane in Amsterdam without a passport.

A Michigan man who was aboard Northwest Airlines Flight 253 says he witnessed Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab trying to board the plane in Amsterdam without a passport.

Kurt Haskell of Newport, Mich., who posted an earlier comment about his experience, talked exclusively with MLive.com and confirmed he was on the flight by sending a picture of his boarding pass. He and his wife, Lori, were returning from a safari in Uganda when they boarded the NWA flight on Friday.
Haskell said he and his wife were sitting on the ground near their boarding gate in Amsterdam, which is when they saw Mutallab approach the gate with an unidentified man.

Kurt and Lori Haskell are attorneys with Haskell Law Firm in Taylor. Their expertise includes bankruptcy, family law and estate planning.

While Mutallab was poorly dressed, his friend was dressed in an expensive suit, Haskell said. He says the suited man asked ticket agents whether Mutallab could board without a passport. “The guy said, 'He's from Sudan and we do this all the time.'”

Mutallab is Nigerian. Haskell believes the man may have been trying to garner sympathy for Mutallab's lack of documents by portraying him as a Sudanese refugee.

The ticket agent referred Mutallab and his companion to her manager down the hall, and Haskell didn't see Mutallab again until after he allegedly tried to detonate an explosive on the plane.

Haskell said the flight was mostly unremarkable. That was until he heard a flight attendant say she smelled smoke, just after the pilot announced the plane would land in Detroit in 10 minutes. Haskell got out of his seat to view the brewing commotion.

“I stood up and walked a couple feet ahead to get a closer look, and that's when I saw the flames,” said Haskell, who sat about seven rows behind Mutallab. “It started to spread pretty quickly. It went up the wall, all the way to ceiling.”

Haskell, who described Mutallab as a diminutive man who looks like a teenager, said about 30 seconds passed between the first mention of smoke and when Mutallab was subdued by fellow passengers.

“He didn't fight back at all. This wasn't a big skirmish,” Haskell said. “A couple guys jumped on him and hauled him away.”
The ordeal has Haskell and his wife a little shaken. Flight attendants were screaming during the fire and the pilot sounded notably nervous when bringing the plane in for a landing, he said.

“Immediately, the pilot came on and said two words: emergency landing,” Haskell said. “And that was it. The plane sped up instead of slowing down. You could tell he floored it.”

As Mutallab was being led out of the plane in handcuffs, Haskell said he realized that was the same man he saw trying to board the plane in Amsterdam.

Passengers had to wait about 20 minutes before they were allowed to exit the plane. Haskell said he and other passengers waited about six hours to be interviewed by the FBI.

About an hour after landing, Haskell said he saw another man being taken into custody. But a spokeswoman from the FBI in Detroit said Mutallab was the only person taken into custody.

You do know the man was Nigerian and not from the middle east? So first bomb the country (universities, hospitals, infastructure etc) and then cut off all aid?

      wtf..?

Ofcourse. Besides the fact that he was operating for a terrorist organisation, the people from Nigeria aren't that happy with the US, they have supported old dictators that made the mess in the country ever bigger. Also my country is to blame, it should be able to prevent such an event. Also Shell(= ex Dutch national oil company) has done some dirty work in Negeria.

Remember when your pointing to someone else, there are always 3 fingers pointing towards yourself.

I knew it. Yemen is going to be to blame. These terrorists seem to be "one trick ponies." What is their fasination with bombing planes??

So what's the prevailing conspiracy theory on this one? Did the CIA set the guy up to do this so that they could continue their wars? Is there really no such thing as Al Quaeda and do the militant Muslims of the world (Middle East or wherever) love us??

No the conspiracy is that the US bombs countries.. then the countries they bomb retaliate the only way they can. You don't have to look far. Look two threads down..

"Obama Bombs Yemen." I called it.

No theory the guy was witnessed boarding the plane without a passport, which hasn't been mentioned on any major news channel in the UK. Maybe if the US want to tighten up airport security they should not let people on aircraft without a passport. The source of the story was on regional Detroit news .

What I don't get is why did he wait to do it less than an hour before the plane landed. Unless he wanted to be sure he was in US air space.

The US won't do any of the above because it is not in their best interest.

Peace isn't profitable, plain and simple. If there's money to be made then the chaos, madness and slaughter will continue.

The US leaders don't give a damn about your security because if they did, then they wouldn't be doing the shit that they are.

when will the regular non militant people gain some guff and stand up to these? they wontm b/c the regular citizens of the Middle east find it convienent to let the terrorists do what they do much like whites in the south didnt stand up to the KKK when it was doing its activities.
Why should they? And what makes you think that the deliberate killing of US citizens, isn't justified in the minds of those seeking revenge?

                    Just a thought.

An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.”

                      Exactly.

What I find disturbing is that fact, that seemingly intelligent/educated people have real trouble in understanding why "terrorists" do the things they do.

                      I don't get it.

why do u imply that all terrorists are just middle-east muslims??i think terrorism has no Country or Religion! these guys have no minds, they`ve been brainwashed for doind a certain task...in my opinion the majority of these ppl are very poor, which make their choice to join terrorist organizations easily....
still that guy was Nigerian & not from the middle east as the guys corrected...so u were wrong opening this topic to attack the middle east ppl for an african guy!& if the guy was from anywhere in europe would u still ask to ''cordon off europe and let them rot amongst themselves.... ''&". stop the foreign aid, stop the wars, stop all the humanities monies, and simply isolate them''????!!!!!!no u wouldnt!
do u think we will really rot as u say?!!basically we dont live on the aid money,,,or maybe most of countries..its only the problem of corruption that is causing the loss of resources..
if u think we are still riding camels & living in the desserts & all what we do is raise terrorist children...then im telling u: YOU ARE WRONG!
& again terrorists are in every country & every religion,,,u r just thinkin about the middle east as ur media tells u maybe!
and finally plz dont judge the majority as for the behaviour of the minority
                        Cheers from Egypt

I don't have any problem believing that they are telling the truth, and I would hope that the FBI would interview them. My comment was really directed at a larger undercurrent of paranoia around here of late.
