well lets see, we are at war with a enemy that cant sneak 1 guy in with the millions of illegals that stream thru our southern border, nor can they sneak in a pound of anthrax with the tons of coke comming thru our border.

These masterminds could even buy dynomite right here in the states with a fake id, and do some vests in malls type stuff.

But they are to dumb for that, we have foiled them at every turn, because even though they were smarter in the 8 years before 9-11, we are super smart now, and have blocked their every move!

Pretty much my thoughts. This terrorist threat we keep being brain-washed with is really pretty lame in the overall scheme of things. If al quaeda is the global threat with multi-billion dollar backing we're led to believe (with the murderous intentions we're led to believe it has) then the USA and the UK would have been hit time after time in the last 10 years imo.
As CHunky said, those training camps must be pretty crap.

Does it always have to be planes? Or is that simply a more potent way of arousing fear in people as many feel anxious to a degree anyway when they fly?

If this threat was real and there really are so many people willing to be martyred for the cause, why don't they strike randomly at theme parks, beaches, sports events, city centres etc etc?
It would be a far more effective, efficient and easier to execute if terror was the aim.

Why don't all these prospective martyrs just hit out at the nearest target to them and cause as much damage as possible before they are overcome? The answer of course is because they are all "sleeping" in "cells" all over the world, until the call comes from the bogey man telling them to board a particular flight with their pants full of supposedly explosive material.

I don't think we should quickly dismiss the terrorists. We've had two terror attacks in the U.S. in the last two months. The Army officer at Ft. Hood was a terror attack and so was the attempted airplane bombing. According to the Yemen foreign minister, there are many more on the way around the world.

Yes, the guy that fouled up the most recent bombing didn't succeed. I heard that because he was impatient and didn't want to wait 10 more minutes was the reason for the dud bomb. So we were very fortunate that he screwed up. However, Major Hasan succeeded in murdering 12 soldiers.

The bad news is that it feels that we aren't any safer than 2001. He got through the increased airport security and by sheer luck and impatient we don't have another successful terror attack here in the U.S. The guy's father even warned us and our "intelligence" still couldn't put it altogether. The system is not working and glad to see Obama finally interrupted his vacation to say so.

If your going to call Ft. Hood terrorism you can add the Washington Sniper, The Columbine Massacre, an all the other school shootings terrorism. All of these could of been maybe prevented if the US was dealing with Gun Control. But Gun Control isn't being addressed. All violent crime could be called terrorism.

The IRA used all sorts of terrorism, from shooting individuals, the bazooka attack at Heathrow, snippier attacks, and boomings at public events, shopping precincts, hotels, 10 Downing street, and on a regular basis's. They even had a Christmas bombing campaign. I find it strange how suicide boomers seem to be able to act efficiently in Israel, Iraq etc but not in the US. A lot of the terror attacks in seem to be small groups of individuals acting alone rather than some super network of terrorists.

Its always planes What would be the point of running test runs? If they got caught they would be fucked anyway. It wouldnt be like getting caught with a small amount of Marijuana, they are not going to get let off with a caution and sent on their way. What would be interesting to know is how many terrorists have been caught at the airport by the security before entering the Departures. I recon none.

I say send him back to Yemen and let one of the drones kill him in one of our many attacks. It seems contradictory to kill terrorists overseas without any trial, but if they come over here than they are treated like U.S. citizens.
