Digweed is the best. I don't find his live sets, wheather long or short; or his Kiss mixes boring at all.

Love the way he mixes tracks together, tuff tuff basslines and flawless mixing is what he brings!

When he played at the Mayan with Desyn this past September, he started off with some odd tecky tracks, but the mixing just made it soo fucking good! Bass treble, bass treble, perfect.

just have to say digweeds last two kiss mixes have been pure class. considering he plays new tracks, the enjoyment of the sets are really down to what the producers are doing. so when people comment that digweed is losing it because his kiss shows are lacking, it's not fair at all. the apparent "step losing" (whatever that means) is more a comment on the current state of edm production.

however for me digweed is still at the top of his game and as he's such a perfectionist it can be all too easy to notice the slight dips he has during the course of a year.

Did anyone listen to the live mixes that digweed played lately on transistions???? Definalty not the same quality I usually expect form diggers....maybe i am nutz but that just what me ears are tellin me.

Digweeds been slipping bigtime. His shows have been boring as of late......In my opinion Hernan Cattaneo shows blow digweeds out of the water...Now Hernan is a dj that CONSISTENTLY puts out quality radio show after quality radio show.

Digweeds radio shows HIt or miss....

Digweed's KISS show still does it for me but since your making a comparison, I'd have to agree with you. Hernan is on top and I would like to see him hit numero uno sometime next year. Checkout DJ Paul's metrodance weekly. Sure you have, but good stuff!

Seriously, i have trouble staying awake while listenuing to his Kiss show, elevator music imo


Digweed kicks ass in a 2 hour set like at Bedrock or on the Uni tour, but those damn long sets would send me into a coma, like the Beirut set! holy shit, could the first 2 hours be any more boring? If i tried to collect the most dull records and pull off the most boring set i could, i still think Digweed could out-bore me, i aint the only one who sees it like this, but hey, let the flaming begin!!! bring it on you mofos!

as much as i like digweed, i actually agree with you. the beirut set was relatively boring, esp before it finally started building up near the 160 min mark. that's why i've been trying to "re-discover" the old digweed lately. listening to lots of his sets from 4-5 years ago, even 10 years ago (!!!). they're so awesome.

but no one could beat digweed in his peaktime mode. and this includes the 2004 digweed. he's still got it and he's still consistent with his style, which is great for his fans... unlike sasha who's still great but his style's changing way too much. what then happens to the fans that fail to accept the change? sol, right?

I think a lot of people are afraid of the reactions when they say Digweed isn't the best dj around anymore. You almost feel obliged to see John Digweed as the best dj around.
I too think there are others who can mix atleast as good as Digweed. I've been out of the scene for 6 months or something so I can't give an exact opinion of Digweed's mixes lately but I've downloaded the last 2 Kiss mixes and they didn't do much to me. Maybe I'm looking for something new. A bit more techy. (I'm very into Joris Voorn & Alexander Kowalski these days.)
But I think that when you see John Digweed live, you still (and that will allways will be) have something like:

"Look!! That's John Digweed (with a great smile on your face)!"
