    Re: Boxee

Ok so I made the official switch to Boxee, got it installed and running on my HTPC and love it. I find it much easier to use than xbmc.

I tinkered around with xbmc for quite a while before (all though I still do love the visuals and interface) I gave up on it.

      Re: Boxee

I've been playing with the boxee software for the last year or so, and have been trying to convince myself to buy a box and make the switch so I can cancel my cable. Now the box is available for $100 at http://mobile.dailysteals.com

I'm buying it. For $125, it's worth it to have a new gadget imo

dusk, do you still use yours? what are your one-year-later thoughts?

That would be the ultimate media center if it had a OS with descent hardware in it that would allow you to play STEAM games/Multitask.

Sorry for the late reply mate.... and yes one year later it is still the bomb. I have no regrets about cancelling my cable at all.

                Re: Boxee

So I've updated to the new Boxee beta v. 1.5 and for the life of me... cannot get any of the font to show. I have tried replacing the boxee.tff font with a generic.tff file as suggested on a google find... but still no luck.

If anyone one has any suggestions would greatly appreciate it... was so looking forward to the update

I've been trying very hard to restrain myself from upgrading to the beta. I keep telling myself it's less than a month away so i wouldn't have the issues you are.

I've done a factory reset on my girlfriend's Boxee and it went smoothly. All of her subscriptions, favorites, and queue were retained. I recommend it
