I was just watching some recent news footage from Haiti. Unreal! Dead bodies everywhere, people with crushed/severed limbs, infections, starvation, & basically no doctors.

I know someone who goes over to Haiti to help regularly and she is devastated....she is collecting donations and heading back over on the 26th of Jan to do what she can.

I hope in a time like this where people are so in need that everyone can open their hearts and donate something. Every little bit helps

Haiti got hit again: another earthquake hit Haiti early this morning. Haiti experienced a 6.1-magnitude aftershock, even as locals and aid groups from around the world try to manage the catastrophic damage caused by last week's Haiti earthquake.

Fortunately, this morning's aftershock was not nearly as violent as the initial earthquake: similar-sized quakes struck four times in the last week alone, hitting Guatemala, Argentina, the Cayman Islands, and the Solomon Islands.

While a 6.1 magnitude earthquake sounds almost as strong as a 7.0 earthquake, the difference of the destructive power between the two is greater than an order of magnitude. Unlike temperature scales, in which units of increase are constant, the method used to measure earthquake magnitudes is logarithmic. What this generally means is that the amount of shaking at ground level caused by a 5.0 earthquake is 10 times less than that caused by a 6.0 earthquake and 100 times less of that caused by a 7.0 earthquake.

dont know about the US new weapon.. the Venezuelan president also said that US government sent another 4000 marines when what they actually need are more doctors, adding that Cuba has sent more doctors to Haiti than US...
