Featuring Vampire Weekend and Radiohead re-edits
Musical chameleon Kenneth Bager provides this week’s exclusive DJ mix. Hailing from Denmark – where he came to fame for throwing the now-legendary acid house ‘coma’ parties – Bager has stamped his mark on the Danish and wider music scenes in numerous ways, exploring techno, trance, house, electro, breaks, and – more recently – modern folk throughout his varied DJ and production career.
A man with truly eclectic tastes, Bager’s intriguing musical preferences can perhaps be summed up through his choice of opening track – a fantastic piano instrumental of Boyz Noise and Erol Alkan’s track ‘Waves’, performed by Gonzales. Simultaneously ridiculous and brilliant.
Also included in Bager’s selection are a re-edit of Vampire Weekend’s ‘Horchata’, A David Byrne/Brian Eno collaboration, the dreamy percussive tones of Four Tet’s ‘Love Cry’ and a white label ambient house rework of Radiohead’s ‘Creep’. Fascinating stuff.
