Re: ABC News claims to have obtained the pictures under the US Freedom of Information

This is an excellent book and I suggest you read it:

Here is a link to the relevant text about the Pentagon video inside the book from google books: http://bit.ly/daskYn

Here it is so it's easy to read:

One factor that allowed Meysan to gain converts was the absence of video showing the crash. For almost five years, the only visual evidence of a plane striking the Pentagon was a set of still-frame shots taken from a security camera on the north side of the building. The photos were leaked to several news orginizations in 2002. But becuse the camera was recording at a slow frame rate and the Boeing 757 was traveling at 780 feet per second, the images show little more than a blurry white object appoaching the Pentagon and a fireball subsequently erupting from the building.

In 2004, the convervative watchdog group Judicial Watch filed a request under the Freedom of Information Act for the video itself - as opposed to a still-frame photos taken from the video. The intention was to disprove Meyssan definitively, say Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch.

The Pentagon initially refused the request because the video was among the evidence in the pending trial of accused 9/11 Al Qaeda conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui. In May 2006, after Moussaoui pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life in prison, the Pentagon released two videos showing the crash from slightly different angles. The violence of the footage is undeniable, but to call it video is a strech: It's actually more like a slide show of the images previously released - a blur followed by a massive explosion. Within hours of the videos being release online, the Web site www.prisonplanet.com posted a story titled, "New Pentagon Video Shows No Boeing Airliner."

A Pentagon spokesperson tells Popular Mechanics that the video was taken with a Philips LTC 1261 security camera and recorded at one frame per second. Jerry Housenga is a technical product specialist with Bosch Security Systems, which bought the Philips camera division in 2002. According to Housenga, it was unrealistic to think that the low-quality security camera footage would reveal the crystal-clear image of a Boeing 757 traveling at 780 feet per second. While most advanced security surveillance cameras can be set to record real-time video, the attached recording systems are almost always set at significantly slower frame rates in order to conserve storage space. As a result, it is unlikely that the recording system of any nearby security camera would be set at a rate high enough to capture the speeding plane with decent resolution.

Res0, RM and chunky are convinced the whole thing is a conspiracy... and that our gov't let it happen and were in on it and that building 7 was demolished...not a can of worms worth opening imo.

be careful what you wish for -- I have a feeling that such a denial is forthcoming, in detail, and we'll be off to the races yet again on this topic.

According to the link you posted the camera's took a picture every 1 second and the plane passed by the focus area to quick to be captured on any of the cameras. Apparently the cameras where set slow to save hard drivespace

I'm guessing here that there is more than one (Micheal Moore claimed there are hundreds in a TV interview) camera covering any external wall around the pentagon. There is also the traffic cameras that monitor traffic on the road that passes right by the impact site. The impact site is visible from the traffic camera (This has been demonstrated in the past). Its a bit of a tall order to believe that multiple camera's from different ranges all failed to catch any still with a visible aircraft on any still. If I set up 3 camera covering and area and my 3 cameras only took 1 still per second to save hard drive space I would set each camera up to take the still every 1/3 of a second. Also if I was worried about hard drive space I would have my system set up to run quicker and automatically delete the oldest footage (akin to a sky plus box which deletes the oldest programmes when the hard drive is full)

I'll stick with the hundreds (thousands?) of individuals who will agree that they all saw a plane hit the pentagon that day and will independently, I'm sure, testify agree to that.

I didn't see Neil Armstrong walk on the moon.
I didn't see any Jews killed at Auschwitz.

But these things also did occur.

If you need more proof I guess only Allah will be able to provide you anything more, so I guess we are fucked.
