DJing CDJ Problem - I Need Help!

    hey guys -

don't know how many people come in this subforum but thought i'd try here first.

i have a cdj-200 and the jog wheel has started to not react to little movements. it won't work when i nudge it one way or another to match beats. if i start spinning the wheel around quickly (and it takes a bunch of rotations) it eventually starts really moving forward quickly and its impossible to match a beat doing this. i have to use the tempo guage to make little adjustments and it is driving me crazy.

has anyone had this problem before? does anyone know how to fix it? i've opened it up but i have no clue what i'm doing. any help is greatly appreciated!
Should I fuck you at that not until the ass, inject then tremendously hard bumschen and to the termination in the eyes yes?

Re: CDJ Problem - I Need Help!

Assuming that your unit is out of warranty, try at first updating the firmware to the latest version (visit www.pioneer-eur.com or www.djsounds.com for further info).

                Try checking also this: http://forums.pioneerdj.com/eve/foru...4?r=1091036464

Secondly if this does not help (and I do not expect this to help a lot, as it looks mostly a hardware related problem), try to get a servicing quote for replacing the jog wheel sensors of the unit from Pioneer.

By mentioning your problem to Pioneer, also ask them about the part numbers you are required to buy (excluding labor). Usually you can find most of them available elsewhere and you can may be able to replace them by yourself (i.e. CUE/PLAY CDJ buttons or jog wheels)...

Of course some FAILblog replies I saw above, are simply out of the question, as I do not think that anybody of the above who said to ebay or to sell to unsuspected people, would like to be in the same position while buying second hand...

If you can't find your service spares part number, then contact me to see if I can assist you further for the replacement parts you may need.

                Regards,
                Panos.

Im not sure how much maintenance can be done on the 200s, but I know my brother took a set of 800s to a repair shop due to reading errors and what not. They were able to fix the issue, but it wasn't cheap. It sounds like a servo issue, ot whatever part relays the signal back to the cpu.

Sorry for that, I was a victim of an ebay seller a few years ago while buying a second hand mixer.

I paid for a like new mixer and I got a unit with one leg already in the grave (pretty much fucked up and almost dead)...

At least I got my money back via the VISA credit card chargeback.

well the firmware wasn't the problem... probably some parts related to the jog wheel and almost seems like more trouble than it's worth. i'm thinkin my best solution is to get the xponent. seems too convenient not to get it for my purposes. i think i can still hook my two technics up to it so i wouldn't be giving up too much. i just have to get used to two channels instead of four...

anybody interested in a mint condition djm-600 mixer? it actually IS in good condition.

for the amount of money you pay for these things, they should be willing to withstand years of performance.
