I won't be voting Conservative the opposed the minimum wage, the maximum working week, flexible working, and trade union recognition. The would of still gone to war in Iraq and the economy would probably be no different now had they been in power for the last 15 years. I remember the old days of working 60 hours a week for just enough money to keep your head above the water. Bosses saying they had no extra money to pay you, while purchasing their second or third home and a couple of sports cars a year.

I got a mail from the rotter's golf club regarding the Torys' plan to cut funding to nearly everything, esp 6music and it's like.

So not only will these cunts ruin schools, hospitals, jobs, infrastructure and pretty much everything apart from things for those who are very rich anyway, they are going to take away your Weatherall.

...but from what I've heard, England doesn't sound like a place to discuss politics...

...cousin went to Cambridge for her masters, she liked it I think, but going to uni is not living a normal life...

This bloke doesn't give a fuck about workers or the conditions they have to work in. Hes going to look after the wealth no the workers.

no difference between conservative and labor...if Labor wins though we are fucked. Personally I am giving serious thought to voting cons or lib dem...not gonna go with Labor thats for sure.
They used to stand for something now they bend with the wind....and with serious delay as well. there is nothing worse than that in politics. If they win all the major banks will move to NY, Frankfurt, Madrid, Paris etc and the UK will be fucked.
Their taxes are plain retarded and fiscal policies are irresponsible.
Don't get me wrong I am all for the NHS and social care but it has to be efficient. All I have experienced in the past couple of years speaks different...

Have you lived under a Conservative government? There is a great difference between the two. The conservatives opposed the maximum working week, the minimum wage, parental responsibility for working parents. All these they claimed would cause business to go bust. I remember the NHS under the Conservative government some people where waiting 18 months for an operation. Everything the Conservatives will do will be based toward helping business and exploiting the workforce. I remember when I was18 I was working over 60 hours a week just to keep my head above water while my boss was living in luxury with his several cars and multiple homes. David Cameron will say anything he can to get in powers. The only reason they stayed in power in the 80's was because they won the Falklands conflict and the bribed the council house tenants but selling them cheep houses then pocketing the money.

I know what your saying...while I havent lived under a conservative government. i have spent five years studying British politics. Unfortunately though...labor has gone a long way from its roots. there is very little obvious that separates the two in their manifestos. The main things for me are the tackling of the deficit which should be done done sooner rather than later. The complete cluster fuck with the rails and just general over board expenditure on rubbish projects ahm ahm Olympics, London Transport etc.
There is no escaping it...the most constant thing in politics is continuity. Very little will change no matter who wins, the difference is that labor has been in power for far too long and has lost touch with its root supporters. Its as much big business as conservatives. I think labor does have some good men in it, unfortunately they are side lined into the back benches and have very little influence on any decisions within the party.

the truth in my opinion is that most labor policies since its first term i.e. from around 2001-2002 have been misguided and inefficient.
if it were up to me I would like to see a lib dem-conservative coalition in power.

I think most people would like to see a Lib Dem Government but they are afraid of voting Lib Dem and allowing one of the other 2 to win.

Sorry but all presentation and no substance to this bloke, having lived through the eighties in the Uk would never want to live under another conservative government. I totally agree with Chris re the Lib Dems

I honestly don't know who to vote for this year. The current government is a disaster - the rise of cronyism and corrupt politicians is something labour will be remembered for. Todays scandal with three more MPs caught out, is still just the tip of the iceberg. There is no way I would vote New Labour, aside from the corruption, Gordon Brown has bankrupted this country.

Cameron talks a lot more sense and he will outdebate Brown no trouble, but yes he would take an axe to essential services and the results would only be good for the rich. Nipper and Chunky have hit the nail on the head with their thoughts. Thatcherism was hideous.

Plus he is surrounded by old school tories and I could never bring myself to vote conservative anyway. That leaves you with the liberals, who really ought to be more of a force than they are, the greens (yes, maybe - it would be progress in one direction at least !). What do people think of Nick Clegg ?

Most of the other alternatives are hideous - this leaves me with the choice of the Monster Raving Luny Party then. At least they understand how to rave.

Any of you guys read George Monbiot ? He writes for the Guardian and has published some decent books too. We need someone who can innovate and think about the problems in the way that George does, using logic and science and cold hard facts to back up his arguments.

I can't see anyone like him standing for PM though. Very sad times for UK politics and our currency is sliding further and further away from reality every day.
