Call me old fashioned but i manage to stay in touch with family and friends without facebook. People i've not spoken to or seen for years remain just that, usually for good reasons.
Whatever people get from the site for their own ends, fair play to em - but from what i've seen of some of it, it's just not for me.

But, yeah, if I want to upload nekkid pics of my ex for everyone to see how evil she is for cheating on me and breaking my heart then there is no better place to do it than mine and her [hacked] bookface accounts. Right?

Definitely don't think I am too cool for it. Just scares the shit out of me

Has anyone mentioned stalking and cyber bullying yet?? Appears to work really well for those activities. !! And because other people feel it's ok to put anything up, even if you are not a member you can be stalked through it.

                Yeah I mentioned stalking earlier.

My friends 14 year old daughter put some photos of herself posing in her underwear for her friends to see. My friend only found out because he hacked her account.

Facebook has its advantages and disadvantages like any social networking tool imo, I mostly use it to track all my fav artists; which is rather cool or else I would never find the time to individually look them up.

On the flip side I do believe that all these social networking apps will be the death of us eventually

Facebook is a non-obtrusive way of keeping abreast of what is going on in your friend's lives. It has enabled me to reconnect with dozens of friends that I hadn't seen for years, and it's sort of nice to just see what everyone's up to. I don't really see the harm in it at all.

Don't understand the Mafia Wars/Farmville/etc. BS at all, though.

They had a 4 part documentary called the Virtual Revolution on TV recently. They did a great bit on Facebook. Apparently Bill Gates was getting 10 thousand friend requests a day

Someone used a photo of mine as their main profile photo on facebook.. which a friend of mine pointed out... apparently it's happened to her several times as well...

...pretty crazy considering I've never even used FB.

It was fun while it lasted...
