that sounds fuckin great and all. But i dont have the cash for a flight to the UK...if this was in the U.S.A. I would probablyt drive...but yeah....all in all its a great idea. it would be great for all us geeks to get together and party...maybe we should change the event to the country/state where the majority of us members live?

I hear Kansas City is right in the middle of the country... would be a perfect place for everybody to drive to. Except me.

realistically, how about an [ms] party @ wmc 2006.
thats more than enough time to plan, and so many people already go to that its insane and would go off BIG.
for many, like myself, getting over the pond 2 or 3 months after wmc 2005 would be pretty much impossible.
not all of us has that much credit. me.
love the idea kamal. i would certainly be down for some stateside action.
really wish you'd consider something for wmc '06 though. there's enough promoters on this board it should not be an issue to negotiate a venue. and no need to mention talent. there's enough for a 4 day party in this community.
another issue with the UK party is obtaining a passport. i have not done so yet, but have heard it takes a while to do.
not tryin to be a negative, just pointing out valid factors people have to consider.
please keep workig on this though. i'm down for the long run.
btw, you should collaborate with this unome fella. he seems to have a good head for parties.

^ yeah, but what do we need to promote? I doubt any of the [ms] DJs that would play at the party would be asking for pay. The only reason that there would even need to be an entry fee would be for covering the cost of the venue. Any extra cash made can go straight to -e- or 3dx, as far as I'm concerned.

Especially if it's at the WMC, then there's not much promoting that should occur. Just post around on the net, submit it to the WMC master list, and things are pretty much set?

well i seriously doubt that 1000 people would show up just by word of internet. you would need some serious promotion around the party's town/city.
wmc would be prime, because there's already 50,000 people in town for wmc.
but would obviously still need promotion. there's literally hundreds of parties happening at once down there, so we'd need to entice people to come to ours.
its a total possibility with the right people in charge.

I call "not it" on that one. If there's one thing Miami doesn't need, it's a dude from Kansas City trying to plan a party in a city he's never been to

Peoples from Tampahousemusic should do it.

                  thats what i think too.
steve and kamal would make a great team throwing a party.

                  so get on it boyz.

It's nice 'day dreaming' about having one big [MS] party, but I'm afraid it's extremely complicated to bring a lot of members together from all over the world. It's not only about planning, but also about money (a lot of member would have to take the plane), agreements, responsibilities ...
It isn't easy to meet people from you own country, not speaking of meeting people from other countries (only guys I've met in real life so far are Troggers and Bluelove).

Don't wanna be too negative, just being devil's advocate. It's a great idea anyway, I'm further curious to other reactions.

well like I said, I HAVE considered those who have other obligations and monetary limitations (much like myself especially if I considering hosting shit all over the fookin world).

So here goes... since a SIZEable population on here is in the states.... it makes is ONLY FAIR to host one in the states... would I do it on the eastern shores..... more than likely cause it helps me save money on flight tickets ..... money that I could spend on the event..... do I wanna host it at the WMC ?? possibly not ?? I have too long a list of reasons.... but the biggest one for me is that I dont wanna prositute this event..... it's gonna be [ms]'s FIRST EVER get together and I wanna make it exclusive.... just like access to the downloads page or even more difficult like getting your show ONTO it.....

so if we / I cannot get this event to become a money generating event.... we just convert it into a small get together at a local lounge (of which I would be more than happy to rent out as much as I can) or even pay for renting out the whole place so that we can get talent from on the forums to play on here and we fucking host that shit for 3 weeks straight.....

now in light of how obsessed I have been with the UK scene (esp since it's the homeland of Diggz) I DEFO wanna get some action going there too...... and the UK population on the forums is the second highest so it would only make more sense.....as for commercial versus a private event.... same rules from UK apply, I would be willing to fork over some dosh in order to get the event going if it has to be private (donations would be accepted )

with that said... jibby get out of the fucking ice age and get yourself a fucking passport dude....

Yeah, Jibs, even I have one...

Multiple smaller events spread out over the year are an option too? Or maybe this an idea for later on, if the first one has proven successful. But that way you can organise some smaller ones, and have them all around the globe.
The creditcard-diehards can fly anywehere, an the not-so-rich members will have a go in their vicinity a least once...

well... I live in the DR (Dominican Republic) and i'd be willing to fly to the states for a MS event, hell yeah, we have the Guacara Taina here, its an undergournd cave capable of taking more than 1000 people... though this is not an option, too far away from everyone.

                                anyhow... I support this 100%
