Gone because nobody likes bad rep. And some who have received bad rep don't like it either not to know from whom it came. It's an anonymous way to bitch that has been abused from some people or sometimes used from us to fuck with you guys to be honest lol. All in good fun of course. 
There are scripts available we plan to implement where you can just Thank somebody for a posting by pressing one button and you can see who and how many people showed their appreciation directly in the thread. It is a very easy way to just say thanks to members for their contributions or statements and the authors know that something they did was appreciated. If people want to bitch and complain, they have to do it via PM or via replies so it's more transparent.
