The above looks like it sucks and pretty intrusive, but it seems to be moving towards a bit like what the Israelis (who are doing 100x better at security than us) are doing. Behavior profiling. But the above does seem like a bit too much.
I doubt we will see something this intrusive anytime soon, hell the US has gone back and forth forever I think on if it is constitutional if cops can have DUI checkpoints at 3am in known bar areas where people are driving drunk.
I'm glad you mentioned the 1 attack (although you will get more money if you call it 4 attacks) Don't you find it strange how there have been no others, other than a couple of incidents of random idiots running around with a shooter and the 2 dubious failed plane bombings. From terrorists view point this wouldnt be considered good work. No car bombs, explosions in shopping malls, no 24 style dirty bombs, nothing.
I was brought up in a military family in the 80s. When we went out in our car we had to look underneath it. When I went to school they checked under our bus. My father along with many other solders ran the risk of being gunned down on their front door. We also had to endure the Christmas Bombing Campaign couldn't for get that one.
No as far as terrorism go's we where worse off in the 60's, 70's, 80's and early 90's than we ever have been since 9/11. You shouldn't expect to be killed by a terrorist because its highly unlikely its going to happen. In the US you are more likely to be killed by some loony running around with a gun. They raised the terror level in the UK and not even the British media have bought into that one.

Exactly. There isn't a terrorist problem in the usa, the media loves to sieze on the 9/11 attacks and sensationalize everything as possible terrorism all the time because it sells.
