    I-Trip for I-Pod???

Does anyone have an I-trip for I-pod (transmits music to your car stereo)? How is it? I have heard mixed responses.
Do you have any other suggestions?
    thanks

    Re: I-Trip for I-Pod???

I have the generic one, cost me about $70 for it at best buy.
    heres a picture

It is alright, real bulky but its nice to have the charger and transmitter into one.

it comes with a flexible support thats kinda annoying but plugs into the cigerette lighter and then the bulky holder. It also comes with a simple cigerette lighter plugin which then plugs into the bulky holder, I use this and just put the ipod on my lap.

If I could do it all over again I would get the cup holder support - $30

then the itrip transmitter and a plugin to the cigerette lighter - $35 + $40

    total $ = $105

    good luck man

pretty much, sound quality off a fm transmitter is awful. if you need an adapter to listen to it in the car, i'd get a tape adapter. it's cheaper and sound quality is much better.

I have the itrip and the reception was great in some cars and in others I had to find a way to keep it really close to the stereo. The quality is what you'd expect from fm radio (not stellar). I like how it can play on any radio nearby, so like when my friends are sitting around listening to music with one another we don't have to bring our cds w/ us wherever we go.
on the other hand, the tape adapter is probably a better idea if you're just using it for your car. But, for only $30, why not get both?
        Peace.

This is the reason that I wish that I still had my tape deck. Thanks for the replies. I will have to test this thing out myself

Yeah get a tape hack if you have a tape or plug the I-Pod into AUX IN if your radio has such an input. I bought the FM transmitter and the sound is crap.
