    Justin R

It was a trip down under that made a beat addict out of Justin R. During his college study abroad year in Sydney, Justin went to loads of little local clubs and was lucky enough to get exposure to some of the world's finest underground tunes. He thought, "Hey, I'd like to try this". Some friends from the Sydney d'n'b scene taught him his way around the turntables, but it wasn't until returning home that Justin bought his own decks and became the hopeless vinyl junkie that he remains today when he refined his tastes for delicious underground house.

After school Justin moved to New York with hopes of DJing. That was almost 3 years ago, and in that time Justin has had the good fortune to play lots of parties, large and small, at venues including Centro Fly, Sullivan Room, Sin Sin, Carnaval and Abaya to name a few. He's played alongside and helped to bring to town numerous artists including DJ Ali, Brian Ffar, the Scumfrog, Paul Louth, the Chemical Brothers, Adam Freeland, and Grahm of Leaf Records. Musically speaking, his style is underground house -from deeper funkier tunes, to tech house & deep tech house, and electro house;anything that's good! Justin plans to get into the studio this winter with friends & mentors around town and get a release out sometime in mid 2005.
