Started producing a couple of months back on Abelton, using soley samples and the instrument rack that comes with Live, but really want to get my hands on a decent plus in or two. Only problem is I've completely rinsed my bank balance getting a Mac and Ableton!
Are there any free/cheap ones that are worth getting?
I use live with Reason, via rewire. I like how does reason sounds.... and some plug ins I like very much are the Arturia minimoog and the Tone2 Gladiator. But Reason gives you lots of satisfaction imo
I also use Reason via Rewire in Logic. Reason has some great synths.
I also have NI FM8, Absynth and Massive. Those are all packed full of some really great sounds. If you are looking for some really thick, heavy and gritty sounds, Massive is great.
I also have Camel Audio Alchemy. Lot's of beautiful sounds in there. VERY complicated compared to every other soft synth I've used.
