    How To Chop Up sets?

How do you take one track out of a set? I don't want the whole set I just want to take a couple tracks from each set.

yeah, then what tiddles posted - audacity. free is nice.

tbh tho dude, that sounds like a pretty rough way to snag songs for something nice like a wedding. are they going to be played over a PA? concerned with sound quality? you could pick up the originals on any digital site for not much $$ at all and have nice clean sounding complete files and not just a bunch of hacked up stuff at low bitrate.

Second that. People spend so much money on weddings a few bucks for decent music sounds like a good idea.

Btw if you have itunes , assuming it works the same way on a pc. It's actually quite easy to take bits from a mix without actually splitting it.

get info, options, set start and finish times , go to advanced in the toolbar, create mp3. And it will create a file in whatever your import bitrate is.

if you have a mac, quicktime can easily trim an audio file and export. Also, as mentioned above, audacity is free and easy to use.

I use either of those or just import into Logic

                    What!??! No POLITICS?! J/K

VLC Media player has the ability to record sections of audio or video.

It is the easiest way without going the Audio Editor (i.e. Audacity) route.

I echo sentiments about the sound quality. If it is compressed and low quality, those traits will be amplified on a big system

                          ^^^ That

Always use mp3directcut as it doesn't re-encode the file, hence no more loss of quality.

somebody told it before me, but I second this:
if you are going to play it loud, in a big sound system, try to get the tracks in better quality, or the originals.
                              Itīs a spiritual thing!
