The Top 10 best Essential Mix's of all time according to Radio 1

To celebrate the 500th mix, radio1 have put together a list of the "top 10" of all time...

30th October 1993: 1st show, Pete Tong studio session.

18th December 1994: Paul Oakenfold Goa show.

28th July 1996: First live Ibiza show – Danny Rampling, Sasha, Pete Tong.

2nd March 1997: Daft Punk studio session.

15th June 1997: David Holmes Funk & Soul mix.

2nd May 1998: Pete Tong, Sasha and Paul Oakenfold at 1st Creamfields.

31st December 1999: Carl Cox Millennium Eve.

22nd May 2005: Sasha Maida Vale.

29th November 2008: Flying Lotus

17th January 2009: Greg Wilson

Some interesting choices in there, will have to have listen to the ones i havent. Then theres what i'd have....

Digweed 99? What about Digweed '95? Arguably the sound that defined an era of dance music. I would have at least traded this one out for the Gordon Kaye one. I would take out the Carl Cox Millenium E-mix too. Yeah, he played the new years twice, but the sets were meh at best. Would trade that one out for Oakenfold's Creamfields 99.

Need to check out the flying lotus one.

Considering how good Oakenfold and Sasha where in 1998, yes it was shite. Probably Sasha's worst.

not claiming these were the best, but some kinda other than normal shows that i've really liked were Oakenfold Home@Space 7/99, Andy C 5/05, and one of my all time favorites..... Tony De Vit 07/98... this mix slays.

Anyways, thanks for the EM... it's been so awesome over the years.

Lists like this are always going to cause controversy. At the end of the day, it's all about personal opinion.

2001 was a great year.. sander, Lawler @ Passion Coalville & King Unique's was stellar too.
