    GU 19

I know this has been talked about over and over again. I just drove across New Mexico and had this in my CD Changer and it was amazing. I always liked this cd set but today it sounded just perfect for the drive. I loved when John used to play like this at Twilo Around 4-5 in the AM.

This CD set just made the list for all time favs. Classic.

It does sound like it would make for good travelling music. Did you drive at night or during the day. As I think the whole night above you would make it all the more cool.

It's funny how I used to think that cd was played way too slow...back when I listened to tiesto and PVD. But nowadays it's just perfectly fast.

I was lucky enough to be at the Mayan for all of those shows. I remember having to defend Diggers from people that said he was "too slow" and "boring" only to see the same peopple years later realising that Diggers knows what he's doing. There is no CHEEZ with him. Glad you enjoyed it. I'll be seeing him in about 6 hours.

I used to think that cd was slow. But recently I saw John Debo here in Columbus. He was playing show. He barely got to 127 the whole night. I think for the first hour or so he didn't go about 125 and he was the headliner. I honestly couldn't move as the music wasn't up to the tempo to make me move. I need at least 128. I can understand 125 for an opening dj, but not really for the headliner. But he did play some sweet stuff.

After those years, 'Love in traffic' is still one of my all time favorites on that GU019 ...

Actually, I'm kind of missing the stuff from a few years back. That's why I'm downloading 2001 kiss sets these days.

G.U. 019 for me was really John Digweed's most "listener friendly" G.U. when I first got into electronic music. Sydney and Hong Kong just didn't do it for me back then. But now I can listen to Hong Kong over and over and love it even more each time.

                Re: GU 19

as i sit here and listen to the new fabric cd i cant help but to comment. los angeles is a fine album, for many it grew on them. it was a different cd as compared to any of his others. slower, darker, and grimier. still believe that out of all the gu's he did, sydney is still my favorite.

this new cd aint too shabby either.

yep, GU 19 and 14 have been at the top of my all time favorites list for a long while. The Hong Kong set played a large part in fueling my spark to learn to mix started by Bedrock beforehand. It just never gets old

ANYONE WHO SAYS diggers is too slow, has abviously never heard any set from him that lasted more than 3 hours. god, i wish i had a copy of his aug crobar NYC set. the only thing i could think of that was harder would be the hardcore TDV/fergie type stuff.

go see diggers at a show where he can play all nite and you will truly realize what he is capable of, when the layering and layering and layering of drum loops and blinding effects takes hold.
