    NBA/NHL Playoffs 2010

so anyone on here following the nba/nhl playoffs?? I myself like the Broonz & The Celts being from Boston in all.
went to The Celtics game last night with my girlfriend. Must say the playoffs is on another level when it comes to the regular season. The energy is just unreal...Currently watching the Habs vs the Caps on Versus. really great game. Cant believe the shots on goal for the caps is something like 30 to 15.Hope the habs win so the broonz can play Philly before hopefully meeting the penguins in the conference finals.

Wow what a game for the Habs. their goalie Jaroslav Halak played out of his mind. Be interesting to see how he does vs the pens.

Following the NHL here, Halak has been on fire the past few games but don't think they have what it takes to beat the Pens as the Pens play more like a team unlike the Caps who try win the game on the back of two or three guys.

Boston and Philly should be a fun one to watch. Lots of hard hitting and dirty goals to be seen, playoff hockey at it's best.

50++ saves in a play-off game .. either Halak is a machine or he's really in some kind of a special zone

I was following both too, the 1st rounds for both leagues being played simultaneously is too much. There are too many games, there's jsut not enough time to watch them all. That being said, some of games were amazing. nothing like OT hockey and enjoyed OKC putting a whipping on the lakers. My neighbor's kid is a huge Ovechkin fan so i felt bad for him, my neighbor;s a nice guy. Roy coming back after 8 days from knee surgery and people dropping WIllis Reed's name is good, funny thing, I said that to a knicks "fan" he said he didnt know who Reed was ...

Thanks Habs for beating the Caps. Now the road deeper into the playoff is a little less difficult for the Broonz. Although that OT game between the B's & Flyers didnt help matters.

so glad to see the team all the "experts" were crowning midway through the season is getting blown out by Boston, in Cleveland no less.. wow, that elbow must really be sore, lmao.. buh bye Queen James.. even if they do sneak by Boston, they're looking forward to a well rested Magic team that has the talent to steam roll them

funny when Lebron got his MVP trophy he invited his team on stage and thanked them and said his award wasn't possible without them.. where are they now?

Its the Cleveland Jinx. That town hasnt won any type of championship in 46 years (MLB, NFL, NBA) LMAO

Cleveland has waited longer than any other city with three major sports franchises to win a title. The last time a Cleveland professional sports team won a championship was in 1964 when the Cleveland Browns won the NFL Championship (pre-Super Bowl era). The Cleveland Indians last won the World Series in 1948 (the second-longest drought in MLB, after the Cubs) and the Cleveland Cavaliers have also never won an NBA championship. The city even had a short-lived NHL hockey team called The Barons, which never won a championship either. In 2007, the Cavaliers advanced to the NBA Finals in the city's first championship game since the 1997 World Series, but were swept by the San Antonio Spurs. In 2004, ESPN named Cleveland the most tortured sports city in America.[1]

I hope it's his elbow, cuz that's why these comparisons to Jordan must stop. Lebron looked lost out there last night. where's the killer instinct? He's talents have no limits but I think he lacks the edge to be mentioned with guys like Bird, Jordan, & Magic right now. Instead of willing his team to victory by taking over the game, he looked like a deer in headlights. The way the Magic are playing not sure it matters who wins this series but good to see the Celtics taking it to the Cavs. Rondo is showing he's worth all that $ the C's gave him and if he can hit that 18 ft jumper he's really unstoppable.

^^^ I was thinking the same thing! seeing lebron on the bench at the end of a play off game.. you NEVER saw Jordan, Magic or Bird sitting there, well, unless they already had the game locked up..

but I agree with the comparison thing, there is no comparison, there will never be another MJ, Bird, Magic, Barkley etc.. these kids coming up nowadays don't have the heart or killer instinct (besides Kobe), but most of all, they just aren't the same players. They come out of college or high school with such a sense of entitlement before they've even proven anything. A lot of that I must say has to do with ESPN and their hype machine, quick to build someone up just they can tear them right back down

I do think Kobe is on another level. He has "it", that competitive edge that many of these other guys lack. he has had that broken finger all season and played through it. He was asked "how come you don't take any nights off?" His rersponse was "People spend their hard earned $ to see me play, it's not fair for me to sit if I'm able able to play." Lebron shooting that free throw left handed was ridiculous, like look at me I'm hurt. I'll take Kobe any day cuz you know in the end he'll put his guys on his back and do whatever it takes to win. i thought Lebron had turned the corner this year but obviously he's not ready. He should be playing every game like he did in the 1st quarter of game 3. imo. I guess maybe I was spoiled watching Bird, Mchale, Parrish, & DJ play @ the Garden as a kid and no doubt the talent is better today but the willingness to do whatever it takes to win and the intangibles are gone. I'm starting to sound like an old man

but you make a lot of sense though
yes, Kobe deffo has that killer instinct that MJ and the others had.. he wanted to not only beat you, but make you feel like you are beaten before you even step on the court and make you want to retire after he was done with you.. not saying Lebron will never be at that point, but he's deffo far from it right now

Lebron doesn't care about his team or the city of Cleveland. Its all about him. He's not trying as hard so that it'll make it easier on him when he leaves. When he does leave he'll be able to say that he wasn't surrounded with the type of players that will help him win championships. If he wins he'll have a harder time trying to get out of dodge.
