Federal authorities are closing in on the man they say is a person of interest in the Times Square car bomb attempt this weekend, who is described as a naturalized American citizen who hails from Pakistan and just returned after spending five months there.
Apparently they're now homing in on an pakistani man who was recently naturalized.
wonder if this is going to roll over into the immigration issue!

I just saw the surveillance video they're using to say it was some white dude. I'm not sure how they get to that conclusion (unless there is more video tape) - the guy was not walking from the car, it's pretty clear that he had just rounded the opposite corner. I get the sense that Napolitano is trying to raise the fear of militias in the US in order to clamp down on blue-haired grannies in the tea party.
And as far as militias go: this was parked outside of a friggin broadway theater. Since when do militias have an interest in blowing up or attacking non-government facilities? And so, the suspicion that this is trying to be sold to the public as a 'fear the tea party' schtick is becoming more and more clear to me.
I'm waiting for the mug shot now that we learned it was a man with a Pakistani descent not a white guy. Sounds like some possible racism and/or a tacit attack on the right wing specifically the tea party movement. I'd like the authorities explain the white guy thing.

Man, I was browsing huffpost yesterday....and i kid you not, about 90% of them were hoping it was a white tea partier person. It was kinda disgusting tbh. Geraldo was going nuts yesterday too, hoping it was some love child of timothy mcveigh.

This won't be blamed on immigration but rather terrorism. It is to keep the public in constant fear. I mean Al Qaeda and the Taliban have gone from hijacking planes with extreme sophistication and causing massive damage to not being able to setoff M80's?? I mean fireworks and propane tanks and M80's? So pathetic.

Uh, you can't claim to be vindicated on account of you thinking the story falls in line with your theory, even though the coverage of the story says nothing of the sort. Nothing that I've seen, including the link you posted, supports the idea that this is retribution for drone attacks in Pakistan or that it has anything to do with those attacks at all. As a matter of fact, I don't think there's enough info out there to draw many conclusions about it at all, which was kinda the point of my earlier post.
