The man behind the fruit, Alex Golovanov, has become one of Russia's finest progressive exports. At the helm of the Mango Alley music label and the Alleys radio show, Alex has not-so-quietly been building an empire of sound stretching from top labels such as Proton Music and Silk Digital Records to Japan, where he's discovered and nurtured new talent such as Kazusa and Shingo Nakamura.
Mango joined Proton Music in 2008 with the release of "Forever July" on the first Silk Way collaborative compilation with Silk Digital Records. The track received a full EP release alongside "And Then We Flew Away" later in 2009. Now, in 2010, Proton Music is proud to present a new remix EP of the track that started it all.
Derek Howell (Bedrock, Proton Music, microCastle) headlines this release with a remix set to kill. Rolling baselines rumble beneath intricate tech trance leads and high octane, effects laden grooves. This is one of our favorite Derek Howell productions to date, again proving why Derek is simply one of the best producers in the scene.
Chris Nemmo (Klik, Proton, Vapour), ever on point, delivers his potent'Otherworldly' remix. Classic progressive house yet fresh as ever: crisp grooves and memorable melodies abound.
Pacco & Rudy B (Particles), an upcoming duo out of Croatia, return to Proton Music after remixing Matt Rowan & Robbie Lowe's "Ground Swell" last year for the label. Their new remix is uplifting, powerful, and perfect for the coming summer months.
ShiftOne (Silk), a mysterious new alias out of Russia gives us a closing remix that perfectly captures the vibe of the original. Who is this guy?
Forever July (Remix EP) is out exclusively 10 May at Beatport
