how can you get a laser to blind a pilot when the cockpit windows are on the top half of the plane ....it says that it happened shortly after take off ..it would have had to be from a very tall building very close to the airport since planes climb so fast. we all know that there cant be very tall buildings near airports ..... so whats really happening

actually this is quite true. happened nearly a dozen times in the past few weeks. the man had a high powered lazer used in outdoor lazer shows and was sending it into helicopters and planes(both private and commercial). some people just dont use common sense. needless to say the NSA, FBI, and port authority police set up a sting operation with a private helicopter and tracked it directly to this idiots house. i mean, seroiusly, has he just arrived on this planet?

how can he get it into the cockpit? the plane is cylindrical if he was shinning it from a house it would hit the side of the plane at best ... hey if you can explain it to me ...

ON APPROACH, when then angle is acceptable. from what i know about jersey, he lives in an area where the planes fly rather low for approaches at all 3 major NY/NJ airports.it was the helicopters that really got him caught due to thier open cockpits with full glass fronts. either way, its a really stupid thing to do.

i can see it happening on helicopters.... airplanes on approach nah...again it would have to be a tall sorrounding building , and by the time htey could get the laser in the cockpit the plane is already making its final approach, all the pilot has to do is hit the brakes the plane virtually lands itself at that point
