Stroboscopic Artefacts Any of various instruments used to observe moving objects by making them appear stationary, especially with pulsed illumination or mechanical devices that intermittently interrupt observation. Stroboscopic Artefacts showcases adventures into electronic music from artists across the world. The label, as the name suggests, acts like a strobe light illuminating pioneering club sounds with each vinyl release. Stroboscopic Artefacts borrows the curiosity of a scientist to search the underground scene for the freshest and deepest Techno. Stroboscopic Artefacts was launched in Berlin, September 2009 by Lucy. Luca Mortellaro Aka Lucy was born in 1983 in Palermo (Italy). He begins his path in music production at the age of 16, experimenting with sounds and his first synthesizers. At the age of 18 he starts his djing career in central Italy, and when in 2006 he moved to live in Paris, he makes the decision to dedicate his whole life to making electronic music. In 2007 he comes up with his debut solo EP titled "Open House" on QOKI Records, which immediately caught the attention of many renowned artists, such as James Holden who later presented Lucy's work to the founder of Perspectiv Records Raphael Ripperton, who decided to release his second work titled "Glass Computer Ep" (Remixed by Masaya and Mark August) on his famed label. Another track "Continuity Theory" born from the collaboration between him and his friend Rone has been signed up by Curle, one of the most respected underground labels.Lucy's projects for the future include the birth of a new label and the "Dodeca" project (Dodeca is the name of the project born by melding together his skills with those of James Venturi). Lucy's dj sets are all played using a laptop with a midi controller, and are a fusion of minimal, techno and electro, which together build up an enjoyable and energetic mood for the dancefloors.
