    celebration of our 200th annversary

Yesterday, May 25th, we celebrated our two hundred anniversary since Revolucion de Mayo, event who lead Argentina to be an independent country.
Celebrations took part since friday, all along 9 de Julio, the main avenue, millions of people went out and celebrated with lots of joy and peacefully.
I just passed by one day, stayed a little, but saw most of them on TV, really nicely done, good energy, and some strong moments.
Here are some cool pictures released by BigPicture, they will explain the whole thing better.
Buenos Aires was dressed and beautiful.

    Argentina's Bicentennial

Two hundred years ago, in Buenos Aires (then capital of a Spanish colony), a week-long series of revolutionary events took place, known as the Revolucion de Mayo, which set in motion events that led to Argentina's eventual declaration of independence from Spain in 1816. This week, millions of Argentinians, their neighbors and foreign dignitaries gathered in Buenos Aires to celebrate their bicentennial with lavish parades festivals and performances. Collected here are recent scenes from Argentina as its citizens commemorate 200 years of eventful history. (30 photos total)
