So, I (my wife) decided I waste too much of life playing video games, and I after some serious though I agree with myself (her). Point being, I've sold my xbox and now have about 2 extra hours per day in my life to fill with a new interest. Or perhaps an old interest.
So, I have had a copy of Traktor for some time and have never used it, because A) I have no idea what I am doing B) Have never mixed anything other than pancake batter C) Doing it with a mouse and no monitor doesn't seem quite the same
I have no ambitions other than playing a few .mp3s and messing about the house, so I was wondering if anyone had imput on some basic stuff to get started, but specifically getting started with traktor. From what I have read, I can get by essentially with a MIDI controller and a dual out put sound card? Does this sound about right? Would I need a mixer? Or can I do everything a mixer would with a MIDI controller? Are there certain MIDI's made for traktor? (I know I have seen mixers that are "traktor ready" I am really at sqaure one in terms of knowing what I am doing and knowing the terminology.
EDIT: Trying to learn more on my own about this. Would something like this work?
The VcI-100
Any help would be appreciated.
