Who else has given this a go?
I remembered I had the Kalway 10.5.2 iso lying around so decided to try it out. Found a 5 year old old Hitachi hard drive and happen to have the Asus P5W DH Deluxe mobo that it loves. So I read up on installing it, burnt the ISO, popped it in the drive and voila! I now have a dual boot Mac/Win7 machine. Even on the old drive it runs nice and smooth, although start up takes a bit longer and apps initially are slow to start but once loaded run like a dream.
Next step is to use one of those loaders that fool the Retail OS into thinking it's booting from a Mac rather than using a hacked kernel (which makes updating hard). So Snow Leopard is next up.
