fine if you want to pay/donate for a subscription to surf the board ad-free, but posting a link like that to me is a slap in the face to the admins that have worked hard for years supporting this place for us for free.. poor form imo

I am not sure what the link was, but I agree that it really isn`t a big deal at all. It really doesn`t take up much space. I welcome any addition that will help out our community. The people that run this place can`t do it on the sheer love of it alone.

Okay, so the google ads in the forum itself do not bother me much at all.

However, I am getting hella popups all of the sudden, which IS annoying as all hell. I visit two threads and already have three popups stating 'How many balls are bouncing?'

I'm all for helping raise funds so that the owners can operate this free of charge--I truly appreciate this forum and the people behind it to the highest degree, but I think that the popups are a bit much. I'm anxiously awaiting the opt out/donate option. Hopefully the subsequent rise in donations will bring in enough funds on its own...

I may be wrong but I think the popups are coming because we didn't scroll across the add fast enough And as someone who actually reads all the posts they are annoying But totally support anything that keeps this site going


Just discovered a much bigger problem . I go through and tab what I want to read. I have a whole heap of these in my tabs.

I am using Google Chrome and I haven't seen any pop-ups either....maybe it depends on your browser and how you have the settings

^I'm on Safari. If I turn on the popup blocker it stops, but I normally leave it off due to problems with other pages

I added a second adsense program, I can remove it and stick with google for now if its getting annoying.
