NEW YORK (WABC) -- The Associated Press is reporting New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner has died after suffering a massive heart attack.
Steinbrenner was rushed to St. Joseph's hospital in Tampa, Florida, where he was pronounced dead.
Steinbrenner turned 80 on July 4th.
During Steinbrenner's ownership since 1973, the longest in club history, the Yankees have earned 11 pennants and 7 World Series titles.
