Hypo - my mate was in Ibiza 2 weeks ago, trekked up to Cafe del Mar and said it was closed and all boarded up??

I never really got why everyone preferred Mambo over Cafe del Mar. I thought it was a much better bar. I suppose the draw with Mambo was the big DJ’s would spin there in the evening. Last time I went to Mambo Roger Sanchez was spinning, you couldn’t stop and watch him though, and security would move you on.

I didn't know more people preferred Mambo over Del Mar, I just knew that Mambo opened before Cafe Del Mar, I would make a day out of it, so I'd eat at Villa Manchega by the runabout and walk to those two spots. Good to know though.

It's amazing how out of the way Mambo and del Mar are really, I remember walking up that long street to them thinking 'it surely can't be at the end of this can it?'. It's not exactly the best area either is it?!

I NEED to get some of these 10 euro wristbands you refer to simon - sick of getting mugged off on entry prices, regardless of how good the club is!

DC10s is open again this year so will be going along to circo loco.....not early morning but you may be interested in checking it out during the day.....
my advise would not to stay san antonio. playa den bossa is 5mins from airport and has the beach @ bora bora plus Space is on your doorstep. the only reason i would go over the other side of island to san an is one eve to have some eats and chill at cafe del mar for the sunset....oh and yes bring loads of $$$$ you will be needing it in the clubs especially.....try to get well pissed b4 you go inside!
and wear your seatbelt!

Yup I've been doing some additional research aside from just asking on here...really sounds like a trip I should be taking.

Found out today though, that none of my friends can go, not even one, so I'm a bit stuck. Never been planning to be this far away from home without at least one person I know very well...all in all, I'm a bit concerned about traveling there alone and having nobody to lean on if something happens. Any words of encouragement or dissuasion in this situation?

Anybody here going Aug 14th to 21st and at least want to meet up at the events and have a brew?
