Have you tried cleaning all the faders and pots with compressed air and contact cleaner/lube ?

If not they will corrode and get dirty and not function correctly and make crackling dirty sounds.

Actually need to clean mine out as well....

There's an article in Future Music about doing exactly that... in an issue about a year ago. Check it out.

      Ah cheers i will

it's not so much fader crackle or noise, it's more that the brain of the thing has somehow become a little unpredictable.

Will still give it a strip down and clean soon enough anyways, can't hurt eh??

      Great machine though!!

      cheers

^ here in Argentina lives a technician that he works only with analog synths. Heīs a genious here, every artist, including big bands (even international bands) send their synths to him for repairing or for maintenance. He is always working on Juno series, he knows every synth, every model of every brand, and he works very good.
Iīm not telling you to send him the keyboard, but maybe you can describe the problem by mail, and he can guide you. And if you need any replacement part, he can send it to you (he sells parts). I talked to him several times, he knows a lot. His homepage is http://www.sintetizadores.com.ar/ there you can find his mail if you want to ask something. His name is Hernan

            Such a gear head...

Got a unit custom made. Takes up a good bit of the room but nice layout!

Still yet to finish a track sadly... Have enough bits of songs to do a full live set with Ableton however

              ^ nice customized desk!!!
I finally finished the acoustic treatment of my home studio. Iīm waiting for the desk to arrive, so I can plug my hardware. I just connected my computer, soundcard and monitors to work on the HC Teleport contest (I donīt know if I can make it on time). Iīll post here pics of how I built the acoustics when I get home... maybe next week I have all working out and plugged, and update pics.

                Re: Post your studio pictures/setup

I uploaded some pics of the acoustic work I did here at home, in my small studio... just for hobby, I love sound and music, and I make some mixes.
As I said, there's no desk nor equipment. Just acoustic treatment, my computer and monitors. If any of you is interested in building some acoustic gear for your place, I can show you the pics I took while I built them. It's not so difficult, and not expensive at all. I studied acoustics and read lots of info before, I can give you some info if you want to, just PM me. I know there are lot of Proffesional and very expensive things you can do to your studio, but if you are not "pro" and just want a better audio in your place, what I did is perfect. just some bass traps (different kinds) and some absorption in the right places. Hope you like it! my next step is to add some sound diffusion on the rear walls and the ceiling... I created an album at MS, here is the link http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/...hp?albumid=401

Looks good, would love to hear the sound. Was thinking of doing it myself. I would like to soundproof the room as I live in a place where the neightbours complain a lot!

thatīs the hard part. But if youīre not going to play "loud" instruments inside (like acoustic drums, electric guitars/basses), youdonīt have to do much.. just add some material to the door/window, and the sound absorption inside. For music playback it works very good. You donīt need high sound pressure level for editing/mixing/listening

Nice work Diegoff. I've been wanting to move my gear into another room and do some sound treatment but I think I'll have to move first. You know you're a sound nerd when you want to move to a new house for the sole reason of getting a place with a better room that could be a studio.

^ that was me... I moved some months ago, and in the biggest room I thought "this is going to be my studio", while everybody said "this has to be your living room, look at the space and light...".. wtf! it sounds good

                            Haha right on!

I used to live in a rather large room that had many cavity like spaces, large walk in closet for example, and also the ceiling was tall and at various angles. When you'd sit in most spaces in the room there was ZERO bass, but when you stood in a few spots you got TONS of bass. It was horrible. Now I'm in a tiny rectangular room barely big enough to have all my gear in, which is exaggerating bass quite a bit. I'd really love to have a nice room with even just a bit of acoustic treatment. I'll have to talk with you regarding treatment once I do get a better spot.

you can use your small room. I've seen many control rooms at professional studios that weren't very big. If you want to record acoustic instruments, that's another story... but for playback, mixing and playing synths, you don't need a big space. Of course, you have to make some acoustic treatment. You can kill the bass that's given back by your room, to start. That's not hard, you don't need to sacrifice lot of space, and it will give a good sound to your room.
You'll only need some rock wool (or fiberglass wool), some pieces of wood, some fabric, and time to build the bass traps.
