Whether it be his house or techno output Bailey is one of Europe’s most bankable and celebrated artists having released on a myriad of labels since the early nineties, which makes him a perfect choice for Christian Smith’s Tronic imprint.
In ‘Congonhas’ we see Bailey in typical form; bombastic, bolshi and determined to squeeze the maximum out of every element of his track. From the steady, filtered and dub referencing stab hits to the rolling bass and breathtakingly colossal builds ‘Congonhas’ is a dead cert as one of this summers true dancefloor bombs.
That said, it’s b-side cohort, ‘Upgrade’, is no shrinking violet either. Slower in pace and less incessant than ‘Congonhas’ but with a lurching bottom heavy funk and cleverly restrained drops, it’s a superb alternative which broadens the package appeal even further.
