                      Re: FAO Florida people

He played, he was really good, but unfortunately the fools at Jackson's did all but ruin his set. The "mc" kept trying to vocally blow up every one of his songs, shouting out unrecognizable birthdays, etc., they also dropped confetti every 5 tracks (think New Years Eve). They had some retarded background horn they would sound pretty much on que when a track would build up (super loud), and there were a shit-load of groupies and guidos fist pumping behind Paolo...

I kept thinking, these assholes have no idea what a Paolo Mojo set is all about, why are they trying to make it seem like it's Paul Van Dyke? They were trying to involve the crowd as if the crowd were full of f*cking morons who were there to jump up and down to huge break downs and buildups, honestly it was terrible, but not Paolo, he was class. But I definitely felt sorry for him.

They should have booked a Trance Dj, or maybe Deadmouse or Tiesto, not just saying that either.
We left at 1:30am, which was 1.5 hours into the set... we were in the very front for that hour, it's just too bad they f*cked it all up.

It was fun while it lasted...

                        Re: FAO Florida people

Jackson's perfectly explained mate, I know about most of what you're mentioning, but I didn't want to say too much because I've been there a coulpe of times when it wasn't like that. It's unfortunate that the resident dj has to feel like he is part of the show.. a few dj's that play there on a regular basis know him well enough to tell him to stfu.. but the mc-ing and shout outs are really fucking annoying, and the crowd really does "get it" if you give them an opportunity

                        sorry it sucked mate

                              OMG does he ever

As 12AM rolled around and Paolo was ready to rock, the resident dj was busy finishing his shitty warm-up set, which by the way was more like a regular set... he actually dropped a couple of really good tracks that were poorly placed/mixed.

Situations like these make me miss Southern California, where nights at venues like these run like well oiled machines... idiot resident dj's don't get in the way, they know where they stand on the totem pole At least from what I remember

Makes me value WMC that much more though!

                              When and where is Q6?
